The festive season is almost upon us, and with it comes the opportunity to share joy with others. With this in mind, also this year we are continuing our tradition of donating to those who need it most.

Let’s celebrate the true meaning of Christmas together!

KlinikClowns Bayern e.V.

This organisation helps children forget all of their fear and pain for a moment and instead focus on gathering new strength for upcoming treatments. For 25 years, KlinikClowns Bayern e.V. has been dedicated to bringing laughter to patients at times when there is not much to laugh about.

For children, in particular, a hospital stay is often associated with great anxiety and uncertainty. Homesickness makes the situation even more difficult. Specially trained hospital clowns respond to the individual needs of patients with great warmth and empathy, listening to them, cheering them up and distracting them in order to brighten up difficult times.

We want to support this engagement and hope to bring a smile to the faces of many young patients.

Kinder-Direkthilfe Korschenbroich e.V.

Kinder-Direkthilfe Korschenbroich e.V. is committed to combating child trafficking, homelessness and the lack of prospects for children and young people in Ghana and to giving them a self-determined, humane future.

The charity supports the Centre for Child Development (CCD) in Bolgatanga, which provides a safe environment for abandoned children, street children and victims of domestic violence and child trafficking. The children and young people receive medical care, education and holistic support and counselling.

This enables the children to look forward to the future, with hope.

We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2022

Whether it be decorating fir trees or hiding brooms, as the Norwegians do: At Christmas, we all enjoy reviving our most beautiful traditions. Many time-honoured traditions, as well as many new ones – like our fundraising campaign. Although it is only the second time we have organized it, we already know that we want to maintain this tradition to support those in need, into the future. It does not matter whether they are young or old and what kind of challenges they are facing in life.

There is one tradition, which we cannot forego:
to be there for one another.

Notgroschen for senior citizens

For many elderly people, household chores like cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping can prove to be a challenge. Not only physically but also financially, because they are simply not able to afford the help that they need. There are over 9,000 senior citizens in Duesseldorf living on the poverty line. Additional help is not covered by social services.

This year, we want to use our donation to boost the Notgroschen for senior citizens, which provides the help, which is too often found lacking.

This is an initiative of the Bürgerservice Stiftung Duesseldorf, which we are pleased to support and which we hope will find many other supporters.

Dein München

All people have the same rights. But not everybody is afforded the same chances. Children and teens from socially and financially disadvantaged families often lack fair starting conditions.

Especially in supposedly affluent Munich, it is easy to overlook the fact that approximately one fifth of the city’s inhabitants live in poverty. Of these, more than 30,000 are young people. Dein München helps, promotes, and encourages the community to donate to this cause in order to open up better prospects for precisely these children and teens.

We will be very happy if, with our donation, more of Munich's children can have the possibility to grow up with the feeling that the world is open to them and that everything they set their minds to is within their reach.

We wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2021

Almost two years have passed since the coronavirus pandemic first turned the world upside down. What have we learned? Well, on the one hand, to remember what really matters, and on the other hand, that we still have so much to be grateful for. That we should all take the time to look around us and remember that the pandemic is not the only thing going on in the world. Nevertheless, there are times when things can pile up.

Hauner Verein

Unfortunately, no matter how much we would wish it to be otherwise, not every child is born completely healthy. Two of our colleagues experience this first hand with their children having to undergo regular medical treatments and associated hospital stays. The paediatric hospital “Haunersche Kinderspital” in Munich is doing an excellent job, both professionally and interpersonally.

We are therefore making a donation to the association “Hauner Verein”, which supports the children of the Haunersche paediatric hospital by means of medical-therapeutic equipment, therapies and many other forms of support.

Sonderfonds für Hochwasseropfer
der BürgerStiftung Düsseldorf

In the middle of the year, when people were just getting ready to take a deep breath in view of the pandemic, severe flooding hit large areas of Germany. This disaster directly affected colleagues in our Düsseldorf office, who had to leave work to attend to flooded cellars and offer support and accommodation to family, friends and acquaintances.

Our donation is directed to the foundation “BürgerStiftung Düsseldorf”, which provides a special fund for flood victims. Quick and unbureaucratic help is provided to those in need.
