donation projects
2025
The year is drawing to a close, and we want to pause for a moment and look back: at challenges, at successes – and at what truly matters. For us, that means taking responsibility. That’s why, once again this year, we are supporting four organizations that provide help where it is urgently needed. Together, we can bring hope and create new perspectives.
Not all children in Munich grow up on the sunny side of life. Many live in socially and financially disadvantaged neighborhoods and need more than just a roof over their heads – they need warmth, attention, and someone who believes in them.
The facilities of the foundation 's Münchner Herz give them exactly that: a second home. From toddler groups to kids’ and teens’ clubs, homework support and tutoring, to sports, music, and intergenerational activities – this is a place for laughter, learning, and dreaming. Over 100 volunteers and social workers accompany children and young people with heart and mind – from their first school notebook to the start of their careers.
When elderly people in need don’t know how to fill their fridge or pay their electricity bill, Lichtblick Seniorenhilfe e.V. is there for them. Help arrives quickly and without bureaucracy – within just a few days. Since financial hardship also isolates seniors from social life, Lichtblick creates opportunities for encounters and shared moments that bring closeness and joy. The non-profit association funds all projects entirely through donations. You too can give someone a ray of hope.
Ambulanter Kinder- und Jugendhospizdienst Düsseldorf
When a child is terminally ill, the world stands still. Fears, worries, and the burden of everyday life become overwhelming. The Children’s and Youth Hospice Service Düsseldorf supports families during the hardest times of their lives and provides relief where strength is lacking. Volunteers accompany families individually in their homes, create small moments of light, and are there when worries become overpowering.
We want to help because no one should walk this path alone.
Patrick Sondenheimer Stiftungsfonds
When children or adolescents experience the death of a parent or a painful separation, their world falls apart. Fear, grief, and disorientation dominate everyday life. The Sondenheimer Foundation Fund helps in this exceptional situation – with individual grief counseling, advice, and projects that restore security and confidence.
Whether through conversations, therapeutic support, or family mediation: every form of assistance is aimed at giving young people stability and making it easier for them to find their way back to life.

2024
It's time to write those wish lists again. This year, four organizations are at the top of our list and we wish them every success. We would be delighted if we could inspire even more people to support the work of our selected dedicated helpers. Make a difference at Christmas by spreading: Health, joy and hope.
A trolley for the biggest desires: (Wünschewagen, Munich)
Seeing the sea one more time, cheering on your favorite team one more time: since 2016, the “Wish Wagon” has been fulfilling the dreams of terminally ill people.
Many volunteers support this project. If there is one thing we can wish for, it is that the Munich/Upper Bavaria Wish Wagon finds many more supporters.
Closeness and security for little ones: (Neues Hauner, Munich)
For newborn babies, in particular, being close to their parents is crucial. When a sick child is born and requires intensive medical care, the maintenance of this connection remains vital. These little fighters need good medical care, as well as the feeling of warmth and security that only their family can bring during this challenging time.
The family accommodation provided in this Munich paediatric and adolescent clinic is designed to make this possible: offering a protected retreat where families can be together - even in intensive care. This great project is one that we are very happy to support in order to restore a bit of normality to the lives of those affected.
This bus brings hope to the streets: (Gutenachtbus, Düsseldorf)
It runs from 10 p.m. onwards and stops for those who can barely afford a ticket. Since 2011, the Goodnight Bus has been rolling through Düsseldorf as a mobile dining and consultation room for the homeless. Especially when it gets cold outside, it is not only warm words that are needed, but also hot drinks, soup and clothing, and sometimes a safe place to spend the night.
The Good Night Bus is run exclusively by private individuals, accompanied by volunteers under the direction of a social worker. We would be delighted if this great project were to gain even more momentum in the future.
An initiative against cancer and for a better quality of life: (Elterninitiative Kinderkrebsklinik e.V. in Düsseldorf)
The Parents’ Initiative Children’s Cancer Clinic has been giving hope to young patients for 45 years. The focus is not just placed on supporting the affected children and their families, but also on improving their quality of life. Riding and music therapies, children's cooking classes, clown visits, games and sports activities are just as much a part of what is being offered, as excursions to and recreational vacations at the Baltic Sea.
The association also supports the diagnostic and therapeutic treatment options for children with cancer and chronic illnesses at Düsseldorf University Hospital.
We are happy to support this important commitment.
2023
The festive season is almost upon us, and with it comes the opportunity to share joy with others. With this in mind, also this year we are continuing our tradition of donating to those who need it most. Let’s celebrate the true meaning of Christmas together!
This organisation helps children forget all of their fear and pain for a moment and instead focus on gathering new strength for upcoming treatments. For 25 years, KlinikClowns Bayern e.V. has been dedicated to bringing laughter to patients at times when there is not much to laugh about.
For children, in particular, a hospital stay is often associated with great anxiety and uncertainty. Homesickness makes the situation even more difficult. Specially trained hospital clowns respond to the individual needs of patients with great warmth and empathy, listening to them, cheering them up and distracting them in order to brighten up difficult times.
We want to support this engagement and hope to bring a smile to the faces of many young patients.
Kinder-Direkthilfe Korschenbroich e.V.
Kinder-Direkthilfe Korschenbroich e.V. is committed to combating child trafficking, homelessness and the lack of prospects for children and young people in Ghana and to giving them a self-determined, humane future.
The charity supports the Centre for Child Development (CCD) in Bolgatanga, which provides a safe environment for abandoned children, street children and victims of domestic violence and child trafficking. The children and young people receive medical care, education and holistic support and counselling.
This enables the children to look forward to the future, with hope.
2022
Whether it be decorating fir trees or hiding brooms, as the Norwegians do: At Christmas, we all enjoy reviving our most beautiful traditions. Many time-honoured traditions, as well as many new ones – like our fundraising campaign. Although it is only the second time we have organized it, we already know that we want to maintain this tradition to support those in need, into the future. It does not matter whether they are young or old and what kind of challenges they are facing in life. There is one tradition, which we cannot forego:
to be there for one another.
Notgroschen for senior citizens
For many elderly people, household chores like cooking, cleaning and grocery shopping can prove to be a challenge. Not only physically but also financially, because they are simply not able to afford the help that they need. There are over 9,000 senior citizens in Duesseldorf living on the poverty line. Additional help is not covered by social services.
This year, we want to use our donation to boost the Notgroschen for senior citizens, which provides the help, which is too often found lacking.
This is an initiative of the Bürgerservice Stiftung Duesseldorf, which we are pleased to support and which we hope will find many other supporters.
All people have the same rights. But not everybody is afforded the same chances. Children and teens from socially and financially disadvantaged families often lack fair starting conditions.
Especially in supposedly affluent Munich, it is easy to overlook the fact that approximately one fifth of the city’s inhabitants live in poverty. Of these, more than 30,000 are young people. Dein München helps, promotes, and encourages the community to donate to this cause in order to open up better prospects for precisely these children and teens.
We will be very happy if, with our donation, more of Munich's children can have the possibility to grow up with the feeling that the world is open to them and that everything they set their minds to is within their reach.
2021
Almost two years have passed since the coronavirus pandemic first turned the world upside down. What have we learned? Well, on the one hand, to remember what really matters, and on the other hand, that we still have so much to be grateful for. That we should all take the time to look around us and remember that the pandemic is not the only thing going on in the world. Nevertheless, there are times when things can pile up.
Unfortunately, no matter how much we would wish it to be otherwise, not every child is born completely healthy. Two of our colleagues experience this first hand with their children having to undergo regular medical treatments and associated hospital stays. The paediatric hospital “Haunersche Kinderspital” in Munich is doing an excellent job, both professionally and interpersonally.
We are therefore making a donation to the association “Hauner Verein”, which supports the children of the Haunersche paediatric hospital by means of medical-therapeutic equipment, therapies and many other forms of support.
Sonderfonds für Hochwasseropfer der BürgerStiftung Düsseldorf
In the middle of the year, when people were just getting ready to take a deep breath in view of the pandemic, severe flooding hit large areas of Germany. This disaster directly affected colleagues in our Düsseldorf office, who had to leave work to attend to flooded cellars and offer support and accommodation to family, friends and acquaintances.
Our donation is directed to the foundation “BürgerStiftung Düsseldorf”, which provides a special fund for flood victims. Quick and unbureaucratic help is provided to those in need.
